In The Same Place
A sun sits still and rises
Notes from a mourning dove sag and sway
Within a wired sky
Ivy takes flight
Flooding all around, roots unseen
Drink in deep
Again
“Stop the clocks, it’s amazing” (2)
This field balm is healing (3)
I am a toddler … rolling down a hill, on my grandparent’s farm
I am a teenager … mowing up a hill, saving up for recordable tape
I am a tired-old-man … standing still, standing still in light of rising
“Lanes” ring out. (5) More in store is grounding me
In this here and now
Awe arcs
Contemplation conceives
Peace reminds my mind
Drink in deep
Again
Let go
“Hold on” (6)
Ibid (7)
&
Amen (8)
